Roscoe: Ray Thompson, candidate for County Board District 3, is calling on his opponent to remove an endorsement from his website and apologize to voters in the district for misleading them. Guevara was endorsed by former Congressman Don Manzullo months ago. Guevara then fabricated a quote attributed to the former Congressman, and in response, the endorsement was withdrawn.
"It has come to my attention that a quote attributed to me appeared in a mailing paid for by county board candidate John Guevara. The quote was false and never approved by me, nor was I consulted about its content. Some months ago, Guevara had asked me for his endorsement. I agreed but based upon this egregious statement that appeared as my quote, I withdraw my support for his reelection."

“Candidates and Elected officials have a moral obligation to speak the truth to their constituents. Unfortunately, my opponent saw fit to make up a quote and use the good Congressman’s name to launch an attack on me. Congressman Manzullo, the honorable man he is, responded by withdrawing his endorsement of my opponent. People need to have trust in their government and those they elect to represent them,” said Ray Thompson.
“The election is March 19th, and it is my hope that no more shenanigans emanate from my opponent or his supporters. The voters are smart, and they don’t like being manipulated. Getting elected is never more important than being honest with your constituents,” said Thompson.
